PGA Tour News

Phil Mickelson’s win at TPC Scottsdale this past weekend propelled the seasoned veteran back into the Official World Golf Rankings top ten, where Rory McIlroy, Tiger Woods and Luke Donald top the leader board. Now Mickelson hopes to ride on this success and defend last year’s Pebble Beach win at the 2013 AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am, which takes place February 4-10. A $6.5 million purse (over a million bucks to the winner) and 500 FedExCup Points await golf’s top professionals at the end of the Pebble Beach classic. Brandt Snedeker currently sits at the top of the leader board in FedExCup Points, but Brian Gay, Phil Mickelson and Dustin Johnson aren’t far behind.

The field for the 2013 AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am includes top golf professionals like Lee Westwood, Dustin Johnson, Webb Simpson, Jim Furyk, Brandt Snedeker, Hunter Mahan, Vijay Singh and Mike Weir, as well as celebrities such as Wayne Gretzky, Justin Verlander, Josh Duhamel, Andy Garcia, Billy Murray, Chris O’Donnell, Ray Romano and Tony Romo. The week long golf event aims to stage the world’s premier PGA Tour pro-am while bringing the community together with the top names in sports and entertainment to raise charitable funds for worthwhile causes; which Mark Rivkin Golf fully supports.

What began as a charitable golf outing and clambake initiated by Bing Crosby in 1930’s Rancho Sante Fe, California is now the 72nd annual AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-am, and though the location, size and participants have varied considerably, the idea of playing golf in the name of charity has remained true through the decades. Stay tuned after the tournament for results, highlights and more golf news from Mark Rivkin.
